In Rebuild 2 by NorthWay Games, players are faced with a massive challenge: lead a small, yet struggling group of human survivors in order to take back their city and win against the zombie horde. The game has been so well liked that even the last stand 4 has been modelled on it’s ideas.
As one would expect, you get to play the events of this epic struggle from the bottom up: you start out with a measly four blocks, and a handful of people. But as the game progresses, you will work your way through the city, taking back one city block at a time, and all the while bringing more survivors to your side and scavenging for more weapons, food and other important resources.
Yes, Rebuild 2 plays very much like the original Rebuild game, but it has also been improved to include new ending scenarios, a player equipment system and the ability to change the names of many particulars: such as the name of your character, the NPCs and even the city itself. Other elements of the original game still remain: the need for specific jobs to perform specific tasks, having a time duration for completing missions and of course, having to deal with the occasional (and sometimes often) horde invasions.
How It All Works
The game is played by determining what you want your people to do at certain locations. This involves clicking on specific blocks and then selecting the course of action you want to take and who among your group will be assigned to the task. Occasionally, players are presented with certain yes-no choices wherein they will choose an appropriate course of action with non-resident NPCs (such as whether you would want to accept a wandering survivor, or if you are willing to trade a firearm for some food).
Knowing which survivors are fit for certain tasks is a key component of the game. And this means that you should get to know the various types of player job classes. Any single character can be proficient in all specializations, but they will always have their top three stats highlighted on their name bar. Once a character is assigned to a task, he or she will stay in that location to fulfill the task and will only stop once the mission is completed, the character is slain or injured, or if the player chooses to cancel the quest (there are also times when a sudden zombie ambush will force characters to run back to base and abandon their quest).
You can play Rebuild 2 at Newgrounds, JayisGames, Kongregate, Armor Games and Silver Games.
